Katy Perry Meow Perfume 3.4 oz Bottle
Katy Perry Meow Perfume uses six of the same aromatic ingredients as she used in her first fragrance Purr. Vanilla, amber, sandalwood, musk, gardenia, and jasmine. The additional five ingredients in Meow! make it smell sweater than Purr’s floral aroma. The vanilla aroma is the most predominant however in Meow, with a hint of fruit, making it indeed smell like candy.
Below is a list of scents used to make Katy Perry Meow, and something that each ingredient has symbolized through time and different cultures. I thought that it would be interesting to see why she chose specific aromas for her perfumes.
Katy Perry Meow Ingredients
Jasmine: a fun-loving, unique and enthusiastic aroma, joined with our culture in the forms of spirituality, tradition, and medicine, native to South and Southeast Asia
Gardenia: symbolizes love, harmony, and grace
Tangerine: intense in color, thick skinned, and cultivated in Morocco
Pear: pear trees symbolize longevity of life in Chinese culture
African Orange Flower: orange trees are a symbol of love, and marriage in many cultures
Honeysuckle: represents the bonds of love or devoted affection
Lily of the Valley: symbolizes sweetness, the return of happiness, and also humility
Musk: represents sensuality
Sandalwood: a symbol of vitality in India
Amber: known for its healing properties, reflects golden warmth
Vanilla: represents strength, and healing properties
Loving, harmonious, strong, sensual, vital, intense, enthusiastic, fun-loving, unique, are all descriptive words of Katy Perry. I do think that she put a lot of thought into these ingredients, to describe herself.
The inspiration behind Katy Perry Meow
Katy wanted her own line of fragrance, and chose the cat theme because she likes cats, and has three at home. Her cats’ personalities remind her of herself in that she is independent, and does things how she wants them done, and takes her own sweet time to finish them.
The bottle was inspired by her interest in milk glass that she remembers from the flea markets she went to as a girl, growing up in California, and she wanted to replicate that memory.
The fragrances combined to make Katy Perry Meow, are to remind her of the Candyfornia tour theme, with an aroma of sweet-smelling candies. She wants both of her fragrances Purr, and Meow! to make people reflect on a special time or place, that makes them feel warm, comfortable, and happy. The exclamation point added at the end of Meow! was added by Katy, because she said that the fragrance was so fun, that it needed an exclamation point at the end. I believe that with her uniqueness of style, she should have added one to the end of her name also, for the same reason.
Katy Perry Meow Review
5 Star rating
Others who have worn this perfume have said that they sense the vanilla aroma most predominantly. Their adjectives to describe the smell are vanilla-sweet, fruity, woody, with a hint of coconut, in that order. I prefer Meow! because I like the powdery-vanilla smell as opposed to the floral aroma of Purr. The first aroma does not last very long, but it does remind you of candy initially. This is a casual perfume, and I would not wear it to an formal affair, but it is fun, and it does smell wonderful.
As you have probably guessed, we love Meow. What Katy perry fan wouldn’t ?
We rate Meow a full 5 stars.
